I just washed out the cat box.

hnnnnnrgh omg. No one in the house except me tried to clean up after the washer overflows, and I didn't realize how bad it had gotten. Kitty litter sludge. Gross. Also, I don't think anyone's scrubbed the floor under the catbox since ever. Just because there's a mat there doesn't mean it prevents all ills. The mat is disgusting, too. I tried washing it, but it probably should be tossed. I grabbed an old rubber mat we have around and used that instead. IF ANYONE IS MAD, THEY CAN CLEAN UP NEXT TIME.

Also.

Just because the cat box is automatic, doesn't mean it can be abandoned. You have to refill it, if nothing else.

Meme swiped from Charis:

Post 3 things you've done in your lifetime that you don't think anybody else on your friends list has done.

- See if anybody else responds with "I've done that." If they have, you need to add another! (2.b., 2.c., etc...)

- Have your friends cut & paste this into their journal to see what unique things they've done in their life.

1. Stayed awake until the wee hours of the morning because I was convinced Tutankhamun's mummified hand had infiltrated my room and was waiting to strangle me in my sleep. ( I was 12. >_>; )

2. Got third place in a fencing tournament despite having only attended four classes.

3. Have had more serious offers to join in on a threesome with a friend-couple than been asked out on a date.

Uhmmm yeah, I think those work.

I am so mad.

About figure skating.

I have been in our figure skating club for HALF MY LIFE. My mother and Leslie founded the club. WHY THE HELL DO YOU THINK, NEWBIE, WE WILL DO WHATEVER YOU SAY WHEN IT'S ALL VERY, INCREDIBLE STUPID AND PHRASED LIKE WE'RE TOO STUPID TO KNOW IT'S BETTER FOR US. The other club has done EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER to make us miserable. They will not change. They are psychotic bitches and we have dealt with them. You will leave the club the moment your daughter stops skating, so just shut the fuck up.

ARGGGGGGGH.

So mom wakes me up this morning because Kelly called. They needed someone to go in for a day at this company since someone called in sick. I jump out of bed, trying to actually wake up properly, get dressed, eat breakfast. Then Kelly calls back. The company decided they would do without. @_@; My brain doesn't know what to do any more. It was stopped during loading. XD

A useful meme is making the rounds, so here goes.

You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out.

1. First Name: Kinbrae.

2. Age: 22~. I have nothing to look forward to. XD

3. Location: Billings, Montana. Southwest corner of the state, since we're rarely on a map.

4. Occupation: Still work at the comic shop, but hoping to get a better job with the temp agency.

5. Partner: None!

6. Kids: The cysts in my ovaries say, "LOLS NOT HAPPENING."

7. Brothers/Sisters: One younger brother, PJ (20). He just graduated with an Associates degree in computer networking, and works for an architecture firm in the IT department. He has a girlfriend, Stephanie, whose family is rather insane in the "I can't go see Stardust, it has witchcraft in it" line of things. Everyone thinks he's older than I.

8. Pets: Two cats, two dogs. Shasta and Pontoufle are my cats, although Pontoufle is more or less mom's cat. Both are female. (Hi Tami.) Both are roughly the same age, 6 years. Both are calicos, but are easily distinguished. Shasta is a long-haired calico, Pontoufle is a short-haired pastel calico. Shasta has neuroses up the wazoo, but she's my baby and I love her and Pontoufle. Pontoufle cries when you pick her up. She is a brat.

Rogue and Cyndar are the dogs. Rogue's a boy, Cyndar's a girl. Both are brittany spaniels, although also easily distinguished. Rogue is 2 years old, and a few inches taller than Cyndar. Cyndar is 10 and has sprung ribs, so she looks fat even when she isn't. I pretty much raised Rogue while I had mono, since I was sleeping all day and all night, so waking up at night to let the puppy out wasn't a huge burden. (Although I was pretty cranky some mornings, especially when I was expected to do chores when all I wanted to do was sleep. I had mono for six months. XD) So Rogue tends to crawl in my lap at awkward moments, especially when Shasta is in the room, he's afraid of Shasta. He's a medium dog, not lap sized. But I love my dogs too. XD

9. List the three to five biggest things going on in your life:
1. Heath. I have a lot of minor heath issues that pile together an make me miserable.
2. Waiting for the temp agency to get back to me.
3. Trying to decide what to major in. XD; Oh school.

10. Where and for what did you go to school?: First I went to the Art Institute of Portland, to get a degree in Game Art and Design and then Graphic Design. Then I got mono, went home, decided that AIPD was killing me. So now I go to the Montana State University.

11. Parents: Jim and Leslie. Dad works at the hospital as a profusionist (he runs the heart lung machine), and hunts as a hobby. Also fishes. Mom works at the local Wild Birds Unlimited and nags a hobby. I have no idea how they hooked up. Mom is the straight-laced type and dad did "almost every drug in college except LSD".

12. Who are some of your closest friends? HMMM Danita and Jaimie in "rl", Shimmy, Sage, Tami, Ru and Pixie online. <3

I've been thinking out make up for my cosplay ideas, and I think I have a pretty solid idea for Edel's make up. So I wrote down the steps, because I know what needs to be done, but I tend to forget what order to do it in. If anyone wants to test drive this method, I welcome thee. XD Now to figure out my VesVes make up.

Cleanse, tone and moisturize face, neck and shoulders (any skin that will be showing once you put your costume on).

Cover eyebrows with spirit gum, brow wax and sealer.

Apply cream foundation to skin. Edel is a puppet, so I'm going to aim for light, matte color and a smooth finish. (Puppets don't have freckles unless they're very obvious and intentional, etc.). Set with matching powder foundation. Make sure to apply slightly past lip line. Edel has thin lips.

Apply black false lashes to upper lid. (Face Forward, p. 120) I suggest a very full set, as well as some long individual lashes for the outer corner. Just two or three for each eye is enough. (Vogue Make-Up, p. 104)

Apply a light dusting of baby blue eyeshadow to lid. Do not apply into the socket line! Then add a second coat with a wet eyeshadow brush, and set with a third layer of dry powder. (Face Forward, p. 165)

Use black eye pencil to line the inner rims of the eyes, and then another line of eye liner along the upper lid. Be sure to cover any false eyelash glue. Then apply mascara thickly and evenly to upper and lower lashes. Use lash comb to remove clumps.

Using a round stencil, apply cool pink rouge to cheeks.

Keeping inside the natural lip line, line lips with a lip pencil in a cool, dark pink. Fill in with matching lipstick. (Face Forward, p. 93)

Finish with sealer.

I know a couple of my friends read Sookie Stackhouse, so here's my verdict on From Dead to Worse:

OM NOM NOM NOM.

Seriously. I bought the book Friday, read a chapter. Then seriously started reading last night, and finished this morning. I was kind of scared for a while that Charlaine Harris would go L.K.H. on us, but my worries were for nought! The love triangles are still crazy, but the number of suitors has eased and Sookie isn't worried about it ALL the time. I really can't wait to see what happens next. The plot is intricate without being overbearing, and Sookie is so likeable. She's smart without being prodigal, pretty without being gorgeous, slightly bitchy and definitely human. She makes mistakes, it is an amazing thing. So if any of you-all are looking for a book to read, start with Dead Until Dark. HBO is making a drama based on the series, which should be interesting. (Anna Paquin is playing Sookie.)

Randomly, does anyone know if Sookie is a nickname for another name? I know that's her name proper, but some people still name their kids Harry instead of Henry, etc.

Have some links!
Article on 'True Blood', HBO drama
Dead Until Dark on Amazon

OKAY I am going to make a sincere effort to describe the events of the trip. There were a lot of events. Like, a sitcom a lot of events. Thing is, I'm used to being a side character in sitcoms, so it rarely strikes me as odd.

DAY ONE: Thursday
I woke up at 4:30am for unknown reasons, so I baked the cookies I didn't get to bake the day before. I also finished packing up, etc. Mom wakes up, finishes packing, discovers she doesn't have any of one particular medication. So we go to Target to get a refill, the pharmacy wasn't open. In order to kill time, we went to Perkins to get breakfast. Eventually, we got the medication and got on the road. The drive wasn't too bad, just really long. It didn't help that I was sleep deprived. XD; Fortunately, we arrived late enough at my uncle's that we didn't have to go out for dinner. We just chatted for a while, then went to bed.

DAY TWO: Friday
Aside from mom snoring, I slept pretty well. We got up, had "breakfast" at Bennigan's (omg delicious hamburger is delicious), and picked up Kelley and Susie at the airport. Susie is my mom's aunt, and Kelley is Susie's daughter. So it was a sort of mother-daughter weekend. I see them rarely, but mom grew up with them. They are really nice and fun to talk with, although it's kind of nervewracking to have to guard my tongue so often. (Mom told me to avoid hot button topics, and they kept asking about things like boyfriends.) We drove down to the Great Sand Dunes. Holy cow. Those things are incredible. Everyone should see them once. They're so huge, and confined to a small area, making them more impressive. Anyhow, we set up the pop-up camper. This is where we started to have issues. Susie is more of a delicate flower than I am, so she wasn't particularly helpful. And things that were supposed to work (heat, stove, lights) were not. The electricity wasn't even working at first, so we had to call in the guy at the front desk. Once ONE thing was working (cooler), we went to see Lou, et all. It was really good to see them again. Indea is SOOO tall, omg. And redheaded. She's only 13 and she's bloody gorgeous. Nifer (bride) is really nice and fun, although she looks 43 not 33. XD; Sunscreen = friend. But I really admire her for taking on Lou and the kids, and I think they will be happy. There was general mingling until we got too tired and went back to our camper. We busted out the long undies and went to sleep. It was pretty cold, but not terrible.

DAY THREE: Saturday
Day of the wedding! The stove started working that day, so it was less miserable. It warmed up the camper, and we got tea and coffee out of the deal. We were told camping casual for the wedding, and dressed appropriately. Well, except I put on make up and jewelry because it was a wedding. Turns out we underdressed, but oh well. We drove down to the dunes, and waited. Lou and Dave showed up, and we all waited.

MORE TO BE ADDED. I got tired.

Okay, Shadow Star/Naru Taru is just bizarre and crack. The initial concept it great, but it goes all Eva at the end, where it's hard to follow and confusing. ;_;
